The Mystery Blogger Award #2

I was nominated for The Mystery Blogger Award by Danni over at ForBooksSake – Thank you!!!

(You should all check out their blog – I love it!)

What Is The Mystery Blogger Award?

If we all knew, then it wouldn’t be a mystery…

The award was created by Okoto Enigma’s Blog.

“‘Mystery Blogger Award’ is an award for ingenious bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.”

Three Things About Me

1. I absolutely hate spiders.

While writing this post, one crawled up my arm and went inside my shirt. I’m amazed that I didn’t smash my phone/laptop from throwing them to one side and jumping out of my seat to get away from it. Irrational fear? Maybe.

2. I’m not a great cook, but I do make a pretty good chicken and bacon spaghetti carbonara (even if I do say so myself).

3. If I was at Hogwarts, I’d be in Hufflepuff.

My Favourite Posts

I’ve picked three of my own posts which (I think) I like the most…

1. Why I Won’t Be Buying The Harry Potter Illustrated Editions

2. My Reading Habits: How they’ve changed since starting my blog

3. How Many Books Can I Buy For Less Than Β£5 In One Shopping Trip?

My Questions From Danni

1. If you had to choose between reading ONLY your favourite book/series for the rest of your life, and being allowed to read anything EXCEPT your favourite book/series for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

At first, I thought this was an impossible question, but then I thought about it properly. If I was only able to read my favourite book or series for the rest of my life, even though it was my favourite, the more I read it, the more flaws I would pick up on and the more I’d begin to hate it.

I’m not really a massive rereader anyway, so although I do occasionally like to reread one of my favourite books or series, I would much prefer to only ever be able to keep reading new books for the rest of my life.

2. You can bring one author back from the dead to write a new book, who would you choose and why?

This is a tricky one!

I’m going to choose Agatha Christie because I’d love her to write a modern-day Miss Marple mystery!

3. What is your all-time favourite piece of art?

I’m taking this to mean art as in painting/sculpture etc. (I hope that was the intended meaning).

Up until recently, I’d never really paid much attention to art. It wasn’t that I didn’t appreciate it, more that I just hadn’t found any that I really, really liked.

But then I discovered the Italian artist Vittorio Reggianini and became obsessed with his artwork (mainly the paintings depicting women in amazing silk/satin dresses). One of my favourites is below:

La soirΓ©e

4. Other than reading, what are your main hobbies?

They’re pretty basic…

  • Writing (blog posts, original writing and a little fanfiction)
  • Baking
  • Scrolling aimlessly through social media
  • Taking care of my house plants (and obsessively buying more)

5. What are your top five bookish pet peeves?

  • Folding corners instead of using bookmarks
  • Price stickers that just make a mess when you try to remove them
  • Cliffhanger endings when the next book isn’t due to be published for a year
  • The hardback being released months before the paperback so having to decide whether to buy the hardback and have no space for it (I have very small bookshelves) or wait months to read it when the paperback is released
  • Cover designs being changed mid-series so they don’t match on your shelves

I could go on…

I Nominate…

1. Chrissie’s Romance Reviews

2. Marasfoldedpages

3. Rea’s Reviews

4. A Little Haze Book Blog

5. Paperbacks and Planners

6. Lucy’s Novel Purpose

7. Books and Pixels

8. Tayside Book Blog

9. That Book Gal Blogs

10. Socially Awkward Bookworm

My Questions For My Nominees

I’m actually going to use one of the questions I was asked because I want to know if anyone agrees with me!

1. If you had to choose between reading ONLY your favourite book/series for the rest of your life, and being allowed to read anything EXCEPT your favourite book/series for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

2. If you could visit any fictional world, which would you choose and why?

3. If you had to choose between only ever reading physical books or ebooks for the rest of your life, which would you choose and why?

4. Where do you stand on the “do audiobooks count as reading” debate?

5. Pineapppe on pizza: yay or nay?

  1. Congrats and thanks for tagging me! πŸ™‚ I’m not a great cook either, but I’ve been trying to learn more this year. I also hate spiders. I hate when there are stickers on books, especially the front cover. It wouldn’t be a huge deal if they were on the back of the books, but the front cover is so annoying!

  2. OOOH what plants have you got? I have two orchids that I’m obsessed with. I know very little about plants and bought them because they were pretty and now it’s almost five years later and they’re still alive! It’s a miracle lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thanks for the tag Elanor πŸ’šπŸ’œβ€οΈπŸ’›
